Swag Bucks 101! A Guide to Earning FREE Giftcards!

Swag Bucks 101! A guide to earning gift cards FOR FREE!

Okay,  i'm always a little leery when it comes to these new sites offering "points" for searching and survey sites "paying" you to take surveys as most of them don't pay out like they lead you to believe.

BUT after doing a ton of researching and trying this site out for myself, I fell in LOVE! Since joining in February of this year I have earned over 21 $5 Amazon giftcards FOR FREE! AND the best part is, I do not "search" through Swagbucks every day or even catch all the codes they release I am a lazy Swag Bucker :(.

My goal when I joined after reading what other mom's were doing and how they were using the site was to see how many I could earn by Christmas because I LOVE shopping Amazon at Christmas time!

So, WHAT IS SWAG BUCKS?!

Swag Bucks is a search engine that offers you the chance to win cool prizes every time you do an internet search. It works like Google and is powered by Google! So, if you know how to do a Google Search you won't have any problems using Swag Bucks for your internet searches.

What are Swag Bucks

Swag Bucks are electronic bucks that you earn for searching the web – something that most of us do every day right? You can then redeem these for items such as Amazon.com gift cards, Starbucks gift cards, Southwest Airlines credits plus more. Further increase your chances of earning bucks by referring friends, using the Swag Bucks toolbar, following the Swag Bucks Twitter stream, and reading the Swag Bucks Facebook page and blog.

Redeeming Your Swag Bucks

You can cash in your Swag Bucks at the Swag Store for all kinds of cool prizes: Gift Cards (Starbucks, PayPal, Target, Barnes & Noble, i-Tunes & more), Electronics, Apparel and more. Personally, I always choose to purchase the Amazon Gift e-Cards with my SwagBucks.(A $5 Amazon e-Card will cost you 450 SwagBucks.)

When you go to the Swag Store, the prize categories are listed, and within each category you will see the Swag Price of each prize. Once you have enough Swag Bucks to redeem the prize you want, you just select your prize and confirm your personal info (email address, shipping address etc.) Then a confirmation email will be sent to your inbox. Just open the email, click on the confirmation link and within 7-14 days your prize will post to your account. Once it posts, you will be able to redeem your e-Gift Card immedialty. If you choose a physical "plastic Gift Card" or another "physical" prize- just check your mail box- it should arrive within a couple weeks unless otherwise indicated.

Ways to Earn

There are several ways to earn Swag Bucks- the easiest way is for your internet searches. Let say you wanted to search for "Coupons". You would type Coupons in the search bar and it would bring up the possible sites. Sometimes you will not earn anything for your search and other times you will earn Swag Bucks. It is very random but if you keep doing searches as normal you WILL win Swag Bucks each and every day.

When you earn Swag Bucks for your interent searches those are automatically credited to your account as long as you are signed in. If you are not signed in, a box will pop up asking that you sign in so you can claim your prize.

There are other ways to earn Swag Bucks such as, doing special offers, shopping, and referring your friends. Those information and links are all on the Swag Bucks home page. Once you have figured out the meat and potatoes of using Swag Bucks, you can click on the links to find other creative ways to earn more
Swag Bucks.

Mega Swag Bucks Day

Every FRIDAY is Mega Swag Bucks Day! You will have the chance to win multiple HIGH value Swag Bucks all day long you can win anywhere from 30-1000, a reader last week won 21 Swag Bucks 3 times in a row! I haven't been that lucky myself, but I guess someone has to get them! So if you are only able to search through Swag Bucks one day a week make sure its Friday!

Swag Bucks Tool Bar

I highly recommend that you download and use the Free Swag Bucks Tool Bar, otherwise you will have to return to the Swag Bucks Home Page every time you want to do a search that could earn you Swag Bucks (which will get tediuos). Once you download the tool bar, it will be conveniently located below your address bar for easy access.

Another perk to adding the Swag Bucks Tool Bar is the Swag Codes released on the tool bar from time to time. These codes are time sensitive. Once you find the code, just copy the code and go to the Swag Bucks Home Page. Then paste the code in to the box that says "Swag Code" then hit the "GIMME" button. If you have entered a valid code before it expires the Swag Bucks will be added to your account. These Swag Codes vary in amounts; however, once you enter an accepted code it will let you know the amount you have earned for entering the code.

To Get Started:

Step 1: Go HERE to Sign-up

(You'll Get $30 Swag Bucks just for registering)

Step 2: Create an account which involves filling in 8 boxes

(takes about a minute)

Step 3: Go ahead and download the toolbar. You just pick the one for your
Browser (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari, Opera)

Step 4: Start Searching and Winning!

Fun Money Saving Tips and Ideas That Work For My Family!

ADVICE can be found all over the Internet about couponing and saving money, and the general idea is always the same no matter how many sites you come across and articles you read. I myself LOVE scouring these sites and articles for fresh new tips and ideas, BUT I want to do something a little bit different over the next couple of weeks to "spice" things up! I am going to start a 'mini' series about things that I personally do for and with MY family!

I enjoy finding fun and creative ways to have fun without spending a ton and provide things for my family without breaking the bank :) These are just things that I personally enjoy, not anything I expect anyone else to go out and do, but maybe it will get your creative juices flowing a bit and you can start to come up with your own ideas! (if so please feel free to share ;) )! Saving money CAN be fun and, well, simple.

Here are a few things to watch for in the next couple of weeks:
1) Holiday Cards

2) Homemade Organic Baby Food

3) Thrift Store Shopping

4) Family Outings

If there are any topics you might want to read about, please let me know. I am always full of ideas!

Coupon Organization, To Clip or Not To Clip!

As I mentioned earlier, I use the "No-Clip" method, BUT it is not the best method for everyone :) You need to find something that works for YOU that you can use efficiently and will "stick" with you to making couponing easy and enjoyable!

To Clip or Not to Clip?

Not everyone use the same coupon clipping, sorting, and organizing method and THATS OKAY! You need to find something that works for YOU! Those that clip coupons will swear by not clipping and the same is true for those that don’t clip.

No Clipping Method: Leave the coupon inserts intact, use a black sharpie to write the date on the front, and then file away in a binder. Easily find the inserts listed in the coupon matchups, pull it out and clip the coupon you need! No more wasted time clipping coupons you're not using!

Pros- It saves Time. You don’t have to take the time to go through inserts and cut the ones you want. All you have to do is file it away and then pull it out when you’re ready to use a coupon.

Cons- You can’t take them with you. There are so many “in-store” and unadvertised deals at the stores. If you have a coupon system that is portable and see something on sale you have your coupons ready to use

**There is a website called CouponTom, this allows you to enter in an item if you want to know whether there is a coupon available for the particular item and it will tell you if there is and WHERE**

Clipping Method- Go through coupon inserts and cut out the coupons that you want or may use and file them away in a coupon binder, envelopes, or accordion file.

Pros- You have a portable coupon system. If you see an “in-store” or unadvertised deals then you have your coupons handy. If you need to see if you have a certain coupon then all you have to do is open up your binder and go to the particular category you are looking for. For example if you’re looking for a cereal coupon then all have to do is go to your breakfast tab and all your cereal coupons are together.

Cons- It can be very time consuming. It takes time to go through and cut out all the coupons you want. Also after you cut them out you have to organize them in your binder or other couponing system.

If you're not sure which one will work for you, try both! You can always switch until you find something that suits you and your needs! There is no wrong or right way :)
